Gee you worked for Mel all those years but still underestimate him?  :-) 
Lets look at it this way - the good programming guys win. Who cares if 
the tech is bad?  All that is necessary is to mandate speakers no larger 
than 2 inches and no one will notice. You pretty well need to stick with 
that sized speaker even for XM anyway.
