[BC] Power handling of 1 5/8 foam coax.

Okay brain trust....I'm in Nebraska and have a question...

Can 1 5/8 foam coax handle 50 kW at 125% + AM modulation? The frequency
involved is 880 kHz. If so, what is the safety margin?

Dana, how is the ground system? That station contacted me a few years ago
wanting to know how to determine if their ground counterpoise system was
good or not. I told the engineer, and never heard from them again.

As far as the cable specs go, I googled "1 5/8 coax", and wound up with
the following information:

      Peak Power (W) 310 kW
       DC Breakdown Voltage 5.6 kV

Both of these bits of information are useful, but I wouldn't automatically
equate
the 310kw to 880khz, even though max frequency is supposed to be something
like 2.5ghz. But, for Sunday planning purposes, this is a good start.
