Willie:
In fairness, let's not limit this to the HD channels. Barry and I
both have quite a bit of experience with a certain cluster where dead
air/multiple sources on the main analog channels seems to be
tolerated to an uncomfortable extent.
Without going into a lot of detail, let's just say that I spent a lot
of time rigging up alarms to catch dead air, and found myself the
only one who cared about such problems when they happened after hours.
This is ultimately a management issue. The outfits that lock up the
building at 6PM and can't be bothered to pay anybody to do quality
control, are the ones that will have dead or messed-up HD2
channels. The stations where management really cares about the
product will do something about these problems.
