Wow... as if the technology, itself, weren't already flawed, they're allowing
the service provided thereby to suffer. Maybe listeners are returning radios
for these reasons, too!

In the (thankfully) rare instances where we have been knocked off the air,
90% of listeners who take the time to call ask, "Is something wrong with my
radio?"

Truly, the unwashed masses are about as clueless about technology as can be.
They are spoiled, when you think about it... Radio is (supposed to be) very
reliable. You turn on the radio, and the station is there. When the station
*isn't* there, they blame the poor radio, never expecting something so reliable to
*not* be there. Kind'a like the telephone, I guess. "It just works." Now
they'll tune into the "stations between the stations" and hear stuck CD's for many
minutes, or double-audio, dead air, etc. That's gotta be a real winner in
their eyes. BTW, how are the sales of those bridges going, Rich? ;)

So the HD secondaries are transmitting garbage from time-to-time, and nobody
cares.

That's the real problem: *Nobody cares!* Why should the Consumers, then?
Word-of-mouth has to be spreading from those who have bought these radios and had
bad experiences with them. The report of nearly 100% returns on them speaks
very loudly to the retailers. How much longer can this thing survive? It's been
on full life support since Day One, and looks like it's just losing ground day
by day.

How can anyone, seriously, be optimistic about the future of this thing, when
these kinds of problems are so abundant and apathy so deep?

Willie...
