IBUZ secondary being ignored. Volume 2:
As I'm typing this I'm listening to WTIC-HD2, Hartford. There are two
audio sources running simultaneously during spots. Since it's a
simulcast I can only assume AM spots are being replaced on the
secondary. It's been happening only during spots. In the last 30
minutes every spot set has had two audio sources running. I can't
imagine WTIC-AM not hearing this on the analog if it's a full
simulcast. Again, we're dealing with throwaway secondaries. Nobody
appears to be monitoring them. I made easily 20 phone calls to tell
them about it. I was greeted with voicemail everywhere. Not even a
receptionist. This is one of the dominant stations in Hartford. Even
the news department had voicemail. I guess the only way to get
through to the station is to call the Talk Show line. I even called
the other stations in the cluster. All had voicemail.
It's a good thing, I hope, advertisers aren't paying for this. They
have a ton of makegoods to run if they are. The owner of WTIC is also
a member of the HD Dominion. The complaint of the head of the HD
Dominion appears to have fallen on deaf ears. His complaint is
legitimate. Secondaries are thowaways.
This is the second station this week, both owned by HD Dominion
members where the secondary wasn't being monitored. Now, tell me,
again, why I should buy an IBUZ receiver if I'm a listener. The
station doesn't care. Why should I?
