That's one good way.  Also try the following link...

http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/app_sear.htm

which will allow you to search all applications for a given station.  
Bookmark the link and you can pull up applications and authorizations pretty 
quickly.

Be warned that in many cases, the online license forms are missing data.  I 
have seen a bunch of FM licenses that do not show the transmitter TPO, for 
example.
