[BC] Monitoring IBUZ Secondaries - NOT

I keep reading about the awesome spread of IBUZ. Jabba the HD
declared in a gushing Ogilvy press release, recently, about Sharper
Image that this is an "awesome" rollout. He actually used the word.

I have a receiver. I've just been listening to a secondary where the
audio has been in a loop for more than 45 minutes. Obviously no one
is listening or monitoring. It took me 5 calls to the station
licensed to Enfield, CT. No engineer available. No PD available and
no GM available. I had to leave a message with the receptionist. If I
were an ordinary listener I would have tuned away long before but I
wanted to see how long it would take for someone to notice. About 5
minutes later the problem was corrected. Maybe the receptionist knows
the system.

I wonder how many receivers that would have sold? As an industry do
we really care about these signals?

I read in AllAccess that Sharper Image is going to carry the BA
Receptor. I happened to be in a Sharper Image store in downtown
Providence last weekend. If it's a major promotion you could have
fooled me. The receiver was on the bottom shelf. The only indication
of what it was was on the price tag - no description. I had to sit on
the floor to tune it. It was drowned out by several CD players and iPod demos.

Compared with all the spiffy gadgets they sell, this was pretty dull
stuff. Someone has to get off their butts and start promoting this
stuff to more than the industry.
