From what I was told, the coverage was great, considering the
circumstances. There was no ground system, and with a 2.5 KW BE Box, it
did quite well.
I don't think it was the Valcom's fault, it was because there was no
ground system. This think of putting a Valcom on a ship has been done
before and the results were not good.

For what its worth - KKOL operated with one of these for
quite a while here in Seattle. It was mounted on a ship tied up
in the harbor. They are now operating from their new 50Kw
DA location in Tacoma. Coverage was not spectacular, as it
was low power. The ship was steel and in salt-water.
