Dead?
Harris has bought several companies in the last few years, such as Leitch
Video. Now they have to figure out a way to make them all one broadcast
company. We deal with many more companies now then strictly transmitter
companies. Transmiiters are only one component in an increasingly complex
technical medium.
We just completed a phase of combining video and audio resources from three
uplinks to one. The video and audio are just data as far as the links are
concerned, IP data at that. Scientific Atlanta, Cisco, and Satellite
Engineering Group were all inolved.
I built my first transmitter in 1959, original call K0QXV and installed a
Harris Z series HD transmitter last week.
And I think the guys in Melborne have pretty high expectations of their
divisions.
