[BC] Harris Corp. Seeks Cuts in Transmitter Business

To All:

I would like to add my sentiments as well. There is that old saying "rumors
of my death have been greatly exaggerated". Its tough times for all of us in
broadcasting. I have been on both sides of the fence. For many years I was a
station guy. Now my company supports the stations I used to work for.
Broadcasters need to think progressively. Those of us who support the
industry need to think of ways to provide the right tools for broadcasters.
Harris is a good customer of ours and I know that there are good people in
that organization that will continue to guide the company in positive ways
in these trying times. It's easy to say this company or that is "dead". Be
careful for what you ask for to quote another old adage as you may just get
it. Also consider the employees and retirees of the company. They would
rather not read things like the company they work for is going to die.
Harris has had a rich history and has supported the radio and television
industry nearly since the inception of broadcasting. They even helped a
little company in suburban New York get started. Our first product was a
program amplifier and preamplifier for Gates audio consoles. The people at
Harris thought so much of what we were doing that they actually referred
customers to us when they could no longer support those old consoles due to
the obsolescence of some the parts in the original plug ins. Even in the
"death" of a product they continued to support their customers and helped us
build a business. For that I will be forever grateful. Long live Harris.

Sincerely,

Bob Tarsio

Dear God, I hope not! There are an awful lot of stations out there running
Harris boxes! Including me!
