[BC] FM Ferrite choke

Tom:

The material I spoke of is actually iron. If you go to Amidon's site you can
get a bunch of information on what would be appropriate. They make wrap
around choke cores that seem ready made for your application too.

Tom:

67 or 68 type material would probably be most appropriate for the FM
broadcast band. Amidon has a good explanation of the core materials on their
web site. Here is a URL for that page:

http://www.amidoncorp.com/aai_ferritecores.htm

I have used this material to lower the resonant frequency of the pre
selector in a Motorola Micor pre selector operating at 146 MHz. I dropped
them inside the coil form and epoxied them in place. So I know they are
effective at roughly 150 MHz. Amidon used to have coil winding data too so
you can actually design a custom choke for your application.

Good luck with this.

Does anyone have the part number for a Amidon or other brand ferrite
core that they use to choke out an FM signal from a telephone line card?
Something that I can wrap the line cord through a few times?
