I agree

I've had to do the wipe-n-re-install on several boxes with Norton, HP's are
the worst cause there never seems to be a 'System Restore' disc when the
user brings it to me.

Norton claims that you can un-install completely................IF you have
the 'original disc' that you used to install it, never had the 'original
disc' so can't verify if that is true or not.

I'm using the free AVG 7.5 on everything now, good riddance Norton

I bought Grisoft's AV instead. While both a/v products played well with each
other, running both slowed everything way down. So Monday I decided to
uninstall the Norton, using the normal windows uninstall routine.

bought XP pro and dropped it in as a second OS, (original OLs was XP media
edition); which allowed me to rescue recent projects (database of our music
library, for one, 900 songs).

Gee, that's strange, it's just where I left it, in one of the motherboard
slots.

are warned. You will soon join the staff of M$oft at a re-education camp.
When you learn to think like normal people, you will be re-trained for
useful employment.)

Just find some way to turn it off, and isolate this dangerous program.
(Incidentally, my legal mind smells a nice lawsuit. After all, I never
agreed to any EULA that came with this program since it came pre-installed
and running out of the box. Class action anyone?)
