I personally stay away from Energy onix.
Years ago I had one at the 2 kw size. Hated it.
My non-com has a 300 watter. Only 1 failure in 10 years. and that was 
caused by a bad antenna.

If your looking at 1kw   go with the BE AM-1A  with the Tuning Unit.
Basically I find the BE's ok up to the AM-6A  Im still a harris Fan.
