[BC] Radio Shack Hangs In There

Blake speaks the truth. Radio Shack or any electronics place is not
there for your convenience but to make a profit by offering what people need
the most. The same people who bitched about paying the relatively
reasonable RS prices, are now bitching because they can't buy the same stuff
any more. When I was a RS manager back about 30+ years ago, we already saw
a decrease in the people buying parts since that was becoming less popular.
They buy assemblies, when they break, throw them away. Component level
maintenance? You've got to be kidding. In a town the size of Las Vegas (1.8
Million in the area) we have exactly 1 parts store. I don't like it, but
that's the economic reality. Thank god for Jameco, Newark, MCM and the
others still in there. Don't start bitching about them or they may go away
as well.
