A client of mine went up to 1.4 kW. We wound up getting a BE AM5.

I don't know offhand whether or not Armstrong makes a 2-kW rig, but I have
found that with tube transmitters it is nice to have some "headroom," but
it's not really necessary with solid-state rigs.  My opinion is that the
extra 500 watts would be unnecessary, unless you are trying to compensate
for losses in the transmission line or elsewhere.
