When I worked in Western North Dakota doing mornings, even though I was
salaried.. I was working on average, 50 hours a week(some mroe, some
less) and when you take into account those hours.. I was making $6.04 an
hour!
Our part time BOARD OPS were making, on average.. 25 cents more per hour
then more, at least.. in some cases, they paid $6.50 or $7.00 an hour.
Shortly after I left the station, a local taco restaurant was starting up
and the STARTING pay was $10.00 AN HOUR!
If I stayed in town, I could work about 10 less hours per week and still
make as much money.. working the same amount of hours, I would end up with
roughly $800 more per month.
However, I left.. to find another low paying radio job. :)
