Ummmm.  So there's no line in, or such, to your laptop..

  Have you looked at the stuff that Henry Engineering makes?

Seems like I saw such a beast in the latest RW or Engineering extra...  I'm 
not sure about your budget, but I think Henry will get the audio into your 
machine like you want, at least from there you can do something with it... 
and Henry stuff is tough and dependable... so it's worth having...
