   The one thing that the 260 had that most competitors didn't is:
The polarity of the  Ohm meter reversed with the + and  - positions
of the voltmeter knob.

   I always thought the Triplets were better, but I couldn't afford a good one.
I preferred VTVM's for the high input impedance, wound up using scopes for
most dc measurements and Flukes digital meters for Ohms, AC Voltage and
current and wringing out things.  I have a Simpson 260 in the "meters"
drawer used mostly for measuring current at elevated Voltages, it hangs
from 18" of nylon tie wraps, from anything I can rig.
