BE-WARE! Maxtor is now Seagate! You will deal with Seagate on all matters
soon. They are continuing the Maxtor line, but for how long, no-one knows.
Western Digital is still a good alternative.

This is why I use only Maxtor. I have never had a whit of trouble exchanging

a *Rare* failed drive within warranty. They will cross-ship, by putting the
new drive on your credit card, then reverse the charge when they get the
returned unit. I can count on one hand the number of times I have had to do
thi
s in
the past 12 years since I started building/upgrading/repairing PC's. Dozens
of
drives later... all but 2 are still up and running, and all are Maxtor. (The
2
were units that failed within warranty.) No other Maxtors I know have failed

since or yet! One's going on 12 years! Other drives I have seen have had
significantly higher failure rates.

Yes, they do. For computer hardware, I have had *stellar* performance &
support from Newegg.com! Second-to-none.
