 Typically, there are reasons there are overload circuits there in the first place !

 If memory serves, I think the arc-volts of a conventional stick welder at
 that current is around 35 volts, so you're "essentially" correct in that assessment !
 Of course, that current is more for 1/2 inch steel, and we all know transmitter
 parts are MUCH heavier than that !
