I brought an Autogram console to The UPS Store
in Danbury, CT to be packaged for international
shipment. The package was going to be picked up
by a shipping company contracted by the buyer of
the console who wired me full payment.

I was informed that the console was severly damaged,
VU meters all dislodged, all modules dislodged with
alignment posts broken, wafer switches smashed, etc.
There was no packing material inside the console and
very little buffering around the two boxes that were
pasted together. When I contacted The UPS Store
manager, she said it was packed according to UPS
Standards. All the plug-in modules bounced about and
wreaked havoc inside the console.

I feel very sorry for the buyer as he acted in good faith,
as did I when I hired The UPS Store do do tha packing.
The console was in very good plus condition when I
brought it there.

Most of the blame and fault lies with the shipping company.
For the kind and severity of damage reported to me, this
package had to be extremely mistreated, although I was
told there were no outward signs of damage on the package.
UPS was not the shipping company.
