[BC] New Jones Receiver

receiver  bit the big one.

The display indicated "HD Failure".  The receiver  is connected to a UPS and
should have been spared the surge.
Had no  problems with the Starguide III's or anything other receivers.   Both
the AM and FM transmitters

You should be using a Surge-X ahead of the UPS on any computers or mission  
critical equipment.
