Sadly, Deane passed away in the mid 1980's. He's buried with his twin brother.
I knew him pretty well. Great guy and what a genius! As that National Lampoon
song says: "genius is pain".

Subject: [BC] Jensen transformers

Going through my junk (cleanup) I found a big looseleaf bound manual for
Jensen's Comtran software, an early package designed to model audio circuits
and transformers, and display amp and phase vs freq response, group delay, and
time domain characteristics of circuits. It ran on Hewlett Packard Rocky
Mountain Basic workstations only so the software is obsolete now. In the
manual were two cassettes, which were audio transcrips of Deane Jensen himself
describing the development and evolution of that software, as an AES chapter
meeting in LA around 1982. It is a long talk, and he is heard demonstrating
his software. I was playing one on my commute to work (ok, so that is kind of
nerdy, but my 20 minute drive is about the only time i have to listen to
either CD, radio or tape on weekdays - not working in a B'dcast facility).
Jensen was/is pretty far ahead of others audio transformers. Is he still
around?
