The other way to look at this, is IF you did a lot of remotes, you COULD 
afford a new one.
Buy a used one and you'll find a million uses for it. Of course, you'll 
need a receiver, antennas and coax, etc.  If you start to do more 
remotes, just budget a set amount of money from each remote and build a 
"marti" fund. After a while, you could afford a new one, and have a 
backup, too.
