Sounds like a very nice RF setup. I know of a station not far from me that's
using the preamp to which you refer. This setup however, will do nothing to
eliminate interference when the interfering signal is the same as the desired
Marti signal, which is the scenario I've seen way to often in medium and large
markets.
I think the days are numbered for RPU channels being used for mission
critical remotes, especially in the large markets. The particular station I was
using
as the reference, also had the tower rented out to a two way company. This is
also common. ironically, interference caused by the local two way stuff was
virtually nonexistent. That was a lot of the frustration because it took a lot
of persuading to get that local two way system off the hook, because it seemed
so logical to blame it. Once it was determined that the interfering signal
was monitored away from the marti receivers and found to be STRONGER than it wa
s
at the marti receive site, was the real offending transmitter found.
