I had simlar times with MV tubes. One site used a
timer and a light bulb (100 W as I recall) below
the deck in my Collins 21E to heep the tubes
warm. It cost to much to run the trany fils all
night (we were a daytimer). Another site; put a
timer on the fil on circuit of a 20V2 to pre-warm
the rig up.
Then somebody invented solid state plug in
replacement ... oh joy! Wilkenson is what I
recall using and RCA plug ins for the little MV'
tubes.
