I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong.

Then, allow both of these stations to claim "50" for legacy reasons,
regardless of what power they actually run.

I guess what my meeger statement was.......50 kW. On FM on 88 mHz. @ 1000
feet is essentially the same at 107.9 @ 1000 feet.

To really make the AM band EQUAL, you have to compensate for the antenna
efficiency and the local ground conductivity.

Ie . KOA on 850 kHz.the antenna and ground conductivity are different than
a 50 kW on 850 in Birmingham AL... Basically the Denver station will have
better coverage at 50 miles with 38 kW. ND inout than a theoretical 50 kW. ND
in Birmingham with a full 50 kW input since our condictivity is about 5-7
m/mhos and I assume the antennas are not as efficient at KOA.

I guess the other way would be to determine an effecitve field at one mile
for all 50 kW. and adjust the inoput power accordingly.

Other comments??????
