Hi Peter et al...
Yes...I heard this about 2 days or so ago. I'm a freelance (remote) announcer for WorldSpace and they use RCS. We also use it on the Classical Channel (Maestro). Don't think I'd like Selector for programming Classical Music (the fields aren't long enough!) But my good buddy has made it work and I get the Selector logs and the P.D. (who was my M.D. at a Classical Station in Dallas) has to exclude much of the data. (soloists, etc.) Good thing I know Classical music or I'd be lost. Sometimes I have to ask him: Now who's the conductor in THIS performance by the London Symphony Orchestra? (the most recorded orchestra in the world). It's a challenge but I like it. Yes, I thought the CC purchase was very interesting. Since our spot beams don't hit the U.S. we us an unpublished URL to monitor the channel and it's fed to the Internet from Western Australia. Don't know from what city though.

I see that Clear Channel has just bought RCS.

(Didn't see any mention on the www.rcsworks.com website)
Can we look forward to Selector/Airwaves "living logs" in NexGen??
Do CC stations now mostly use Selector (music) and Airwaves (traffic)?
I wonder whether RCS and PSi will be kept at "arm's length"?
Will they merge product lines or keep them separate (a-la DeMarc)?
Interesting times...
I think I'll call my local RCS rep.
Hmmm...
