But that's a small percentage of the 297 million population. Probably 
the biggest subscription jolt for SIRIUS has been Howard Stern. They 
didn't leave terrestrial radio because they were unhappy with it. 
They moved because Howard did. I didn't subscribe because it's better 
than terrestrial. I was curious. I didn't go HDTV because I was 
unsatisfied. I went because I was curious to see what it offered. For 
HDTV, most of the programming is the same. Content usually does it. 
The current batch of secondary jukeboxes isn't showbiz. That's my 
concern for FM. For AM I fear destruction.

I haven't read the NY Radio Message Board in a few years. I went 
there to see the response to the secondary formats. It's the perfect 
place to see the response because it's mostly visited by groupies who 
all know what's best for radio. The formats don't seem to be setting 
the city on fire. People are listening on Internet streams since 
receivers are scarce.
