Usually the need for a solution is born out of a fault. Kent, personally,
I'm very excited about the use of the digital medium in broadcast BUT this
one time I don't believe it was executed properly. Is it possible, in the
case of AM, we're trying to put a square block in a round hole? I belive
that is what Dana, Rich and others are crying out about. It's not the Medium
it's the Message. The message wasn't delivered correctly. That's all. In any
campaign (broadcast or otherwise) one must think of all the ramifications. I
don't believe this was done so we have the big elephant in the room and, in
many ways, it's not the elephant we want. I'm more a programming type with
enough background in broadcast "fix it up" to get along. (mainly in audio)
but, I agree, we all must work together on this. I love good discussions but
hate train wrecks.
