In other words. We don't stream on the Internet for the public because (like
XM/Sirius) we're a subscription service. This is a reference ip address for
our ears only to make sure the voice tracks are in sync and for the
announcers and P.D's to listen for content analysis. It's by no means meant
as a monitor for audio quality. Our engineers at the uplinks listen on
satellite radios and good systems. We, of course, can't as we're
headquartered in Maryland. Our spot beams are for those areas I indicated.
Again, just a reference stream. Is that a little more understandable? (see
what happens when I stay up late and get up early? :)

If you're interested in seeing our coverage go to:

http://www.worldspace.com

and click on the middle tab. We're going to replace one of the two
satellites soon but not sure when. There are (were) plans for a third bird
that would cover South America but I haven't heard much talk of that lately.
