[BC] Boston 4MX50 installation news

      I must apologize to BE. Shortly after their visit in mid-December to 
bless my basic installation of the 4MX50, I got swamped with time-sensitive 
work. . . a troublesome AM HD install at another station (of a different 
manufacturer?s gear), the holidays, and a freakin? BROKEN TOE! 
      I finally got the remote controls, phasor interlocks, RF switching, 
pattern-change mutes, and triplex interlocks figured out, built and working 
on Wednesday morning, January 18th. WBIX began normal operation with the 
4MX50 around 8:30 AM, and is running on automatic as I write this, two days 
later. 
      This transmitter seems to be quite happy with the pretty-funky common 
point loads it sees in this 1200/1060/650 triplex system. I?m not getting 
any VSWR trips, even with more aggressive audio processing than I ever dared 
run into the MW-50. 
      Now that the 4MX50 is on-the-air regularly during normal daytime 
hours, Jerry and the guys from BE can resume their fine-tweaks to the 
controller starting next week. 
      The 4MX50 is so much cleaner than the previous transmitter that we can 
now hear more problems in the source material. Time to replace a few 
microphones and chase down a few distortions in the audio system. . .
