Speaking of patents, I found a nice piece of Windoze freeware to retrieve patent 
documents from the uspto.gov database (for free) and convert them to PDF's:

You need to have Ghostscript installed as well, but it tells you how to get that
(also free).  And BTW, this works for British and European patent documents as well.

For Mac users, or someone who doesn't want to install software, try 
www.pat2pdf.org ...  Either option beats paying the Patent Office 3 bucks per
document. (The pat2pdf website is limited to US; also, don't substitute .com for
.org, or you'll get to a pay-for-play website)

At some point, when I get them organized, I'm going to be sending Barry a CD
with a bunch of broadcasting-related patents that I acquired this way...
