Ok, I see your point... but the term IBUZ fits the "mask" of the acronym, 
IBOC, a little better, no? <g>

As far as I can tell, it's under *all* conditions because transmiting the 
IBUZ signal puts that hiss on both 1'st adjancent frequencies.

As Rich has suggested, there should be a widespread test of the interference 
levels. All AM stations running it should leave it on for a full 24 hour 
period. (Let's say Sunday through Monday, to limit the damage somewhat.) 
Measurements and recordings should be made of the stations that are getting stomped-upon.

If the MP3 on Barry's OLDRADIO site is any indication of what's to come... 
things look mighty bleak.
