And I remember when FM Stereo first came on the air and there was a station
in San Francisco owned by James Gabbert (KPEN which became and is still KIOI
or K-101) He had a program called Adventures in Stereo. Now those were the
days when audio quality mattered. People had good high end equipment that
was built in the USA. :) My folks had a Fisher Tuner. KPEN and the Classical
station KSFR (worked there as a board op when I was 17..my second job in
radio). Both stations served up incredible audio. I know KSFR won an audio
award and I think KPEN did as well. There were only 7 stations around the
country who won this award from Hi-Fi Stereo Review or one of those
magazines. I could go on but I won't bore you for fear I will be called a
dinosaur stuck in the past.
