Never heard it put that way but that says it all Mark. I like it.
When I ran a BBS (ran it for ten years in Oregon and then when I moved to
Dallas...remember those?) I always had a problem with email because things
seem to get misinterpreted or someone doesn't understand the central theme.
I don't know but those were my thoughts and we push on, right?
I really try to look at things as objectively as I can. As a broadcaster,
one should. I must admit, at times, it's hard to do so. I think many fight
this problem. Our positions, passions and personal feelings tend to get in
the way.
I don't know if you've been following the complete thread but it's basically
about radio's creativity and how some feel it's decayed over the last 25+
years. It's a subject that's very difficult to discuss. It's a very
subjective subject. It's like (and I've been asked several times over the
years) someone asking recommend speakers for their stereo system. I have
always refused to make that choice and told that person that it's a very
personal thing and go to a hi-fi store and listen to a few speakers and
choose the one THEY like.
Bottom line. Maybe I shouldn't have entered the fray on this one as
basically I'm going against my beliefs in terms of those things that are
subjective. We all have our positions and we should be able to put those out
there for others to see but it would seem they get distorted and turned
around and then seems to go down hill from there.
Thanks for your civil reply and hope to hear some of your thoughts in the
future.
