Here in Las Vegas, we have seen just a few of those huge LED boards! We've
recruited the casinos into supporting the Amber Alert program. It wasn't
really very hard. Now whenever we have an amber alert, the message is also
flashed from most of the major displays on the strip as well as the
Department of Transportation's signs on the highways. The casino IT guys
made it real easy to add periodic repeats of the messages and they get the
word directly from either the Metro Police or Nevada Highway patrol,
depending on who is the issuing authority.
We do not consider them a threat to radio and if fact those boards
often plug remotes that we are doing at the related casinos.
