To extend that....
Vote for the crook who you already know and expect being screwed one way,
than to vote for the crook with the unknown agenda....and might really
screw you more. Lesser of the two evils. There is some comfort that at
least you know what the deal is with the incumbent. Doesn't make it any
better, but at least that's the reality you know...ala keep the KY around.
With the idea the Newt was pushing, I can see all the lobbyists turning the
local district media to run their slime ball negative issue ads when the
pols are in town doing fundraisers. (Newt is pushing to have Washington
based specific person fundraisers banned and to require all political
fundraisers be done in the local district for that representative or
senator. While Newt is OTL on many things, I agree with him there. Would
make for some nice bumps in radio ads in possibly dull months.)
And we wonder why the best and brightest avoid politics and stay in the
private sector.
