Putting the animal rights group that forced their way into KYW-TV on
the air would not have been
a good idea. This group became known as "Move" and later was
involved in a couple of armed
barricade situations during which both police and members of the
group were shot and killed.
The end came when the police used a helicopter to drop a bomb on a
West Phila. row-house where
they were holed-up and keeping the police pinned down with
gunfire. The resulting explosions
from stock-piled ammunition and subsequent fire burned several city
blocks of homes and caused several more deaths. There were multiple
lawsuits against the city of Philadelphia.
You might not hire protesters today. The risk of having the
situation taken over by unknown
outsiders and the consequences that could arise is too great.
