There was very little "ringing"  in the "Screen Impedance Modulated"  317C 
Series transmitters.  The transformer was called a "bifilar" wound  transformer 
which allowed the reactances to cancel and still provide the  excellent square 
wave response and very low TIM.
 
I recall a very young engineer when he found out that the transmitter had  a 
modulation transformer he told his DE that he didn't want it.    The DE sent 
him to Dallas to play with the transmitter and he decided that  it was the best 
available of the two and they bought the 317C2.
