GEICO is not part of GE, nor was it ever--  GEICO was originally Government
Employees Insurance COmpany,  later renamed GEICO.  It is now part
ofBerkshire Hathaway run by Warren Buffett.
GE did spin off some of their insurance business to what is now Genworth
(insurance and investments).
