[BC] Hypothetical Question -- Old Xmtrs

I have a hypothetical question.
 
One of these days I may get up the gumption to find an old commercial  
transmitter to convert to amateur radio use.  If I wanted to do that, where  would I 
look for an old rig?  Such a rig would be an older 250- or 500-watt  rig.
 
Not looking to do this just now, but I may want to down the road, so I am  
wanting to get some ideas right now.  Currently working on the smaller  stuff to 
get some experience first.
