What about RUST transmitters??
They were quite popular in the east in the '60's.

Bob you are partly correct. Ampex wanted to become a full service TV
supplier. Since UHF was beginning to happen in the 1960's allocated UHF
channels
which had been sitting around for years started having applications for CP's

filed.

In order for Ampex to have a TV transmitter line, they purchased the
Townsend Transmitter line from George Townsend. Later on Mr. Townsend
repurchased
his company back.

Also another AM-FM-TV and full line supplier was Jum Tharp's VISUAL
ELECTRONICS. Visual bought companies or had some companies built portions
of
their product lines. For example McMartin Industries built the Visual
Audio
Consoles for many years before they decided to become a full service
company.
