WDNX, 89.1 Savannah, TN installed one, but it never was on the air except
for about one day.Your description of it is pretty accurate. WDNX bought it
from Dean Spidel in Cape Girardeau, MO, where he had one actually on air and
operating full-time. Unfortunately, the Engineer at WDNX had a penchant for
"jury-rigging" things, and by the time he was through, the GEL was a piece
of junk. It still sits in the old transmitter building, at the base of the
150' self-supporting tower.
