No Doubt that GE was an old company,  but electrical equipment, switch  gear. 
transformers and appliances were the main business other than  Broadcast.  I 
would like to hear of some early GE transmitter dates.   My recollection that 
either General Electric or Westinghouse  built the AC  distribution & control 
panel for the RCA  BTA-5D transmitter I  had.
