       My wife (K8AJ) and I went the Fort Wayne Hamfest back in 
November. There was a guy there selling a kit, that was a QRP 
transmitter, using a 12K5 tube, which runs on 12 vdc. I was very 
intrigued, it reminded me of my first ham tx with a 6AQ5, of course with 
some 150+ vdc on it. I meant to go back and look at it, but I forgot to. 
Halfway home I remembered that item and was talking to my wife about it. 
She didn't forget. She ended up emailing the hamfest chairman, who ended 
up emailing ALL of the vendors. Someone came back with kitmakers email, 
and my wife contacted him. He went so far as to have his wifes name name 
on the package lest I get the mail. The four weeks before Christmas, my 
wife gets a lot of stuff mail order, so anything with her name on it, I 
just set on the kitchen table.

    The kit was described in CQ magazine recently. I'm going to have fun 
with this and the Elecraft K2 receiver!
