For example...check this station out:
http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?state=&call=wmas-fm&city=&arn=&serv=&vac=&freq=0.0&fre2=107.9&facid=&class=&dkt=&list=0&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9
c/r is 300 feet above ground but only about 170 feet AAT.
It doesn't cover a wide area, but SMOKES it's city of license, which is where
the population is!

" P.S. I saw a Mexican FM that was 50KW/102 feet HAAT.. ouch, RF!!
Paul Walker "
That may not be as bad as you think. I know of an FM station that has an
antenna where the C.O.R. (center of radiation) is 100 ft. HAAT (height above
average terrain) and the C.O.R. is around 300 ft. AGL (above ground level).
No RF issues at ground level there.
