Hi Ron,

Have you ever tried to cut hard drawn copper or very old 
buried copper that has been time and impurity 
hardened?  Some old ground systems were built using hard 
drawn.

I have had to break out the bolt cutters to cut OLD #10 
wire when rebuilding ground systems.

   The first time they go to cut it they will know it isn't 
copper.
   (take a pair of household pliers and cut a piece of #10 
copper and
then a coat hanger, (#14 I would guess) you will see!
   Copperweld is the answer and it is much cheaper than 
copper.
