You're welcome :-).

Classical music processing has always been something of great interest to
me and I take the design of the "Classical" presets in our processors very
seriously indeed. I also make it a point to hear plenty of live classical
music to keep my ears calibrated.

I got my start in broadcasting doing a weekly classical music show at a
college radio station. Originally, the station has no audio processing at
all and we used manual gain riding. Later, I built my first broadcast
compressor for the station (using photoresistor gain cells) and we later
added a Conax for HF control after we got a Belar FMMM1 monitor and saw all
of the peaks that the old GE monophonic monitor wasn't indicating.

The original "audio processing" at the station was an extension of the peak
flasher on the GE monitor. A relay drove a BIG red light in the control
room to indicate peaks above 100%. When the control room mic was open and
the operator was overmodulating, you could heat the relay clacking away
over the air. That was enough to get the operator a phone call from someone
on the engineering staff!
