Jeff, you are somewhat is a bit more of a pickle,
representing a factory who wants to continue their well
deserved excellent reputation.
But there does come a point, and it is easier for the
contract engineer, to say, "That's it, I'm out of here." I'm
not sure what you should do. However, my guess is that this
manager you are talking to will never be involved in another
transmitter purchasing decision, and if he is, that proposal
may be too expensive for any manufacturer. The customer is
NOT always right. The customer ALWAYS writes the checks, and
thats it. And thats all.
There are too many of these type of broadcasters, and I
used to get too many of them to call me. But when I would
not accept a trade out at their local spa dealership for my
work, they would get upset at me. My time is valuable, and I
would rather be teaching a ham class for free, than to be
paid by these people. Why is it that when I come back from
those places I feel like I have to take a shower?
I don't have an easy answer for you Jeff, but my guess, is
no matter what you do, this manager will not be happy. So
what are the choices?
Tom, always willing to accept a Nautel for free, Bosscher
